One afternoon in mid-July 2025, in the conference room of Antai Textile in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu, Li Xiong, Marketing Manager, was pointing to the latest industry report while communicating with Factory Director Huang from the Production Department: "Look, the SW Textile Manufacturing Index rose 2.3% last week, outperforming the market by 0.7 percentage points. This indicates that structural opportunities in the industry are emerging. In particular, for our flagship acrylic series products, there have been significantly more inquiry calls recently."

Behind this conversation lies Antai Textile's strategic resolve to deeply cultivate niche markets for over three decades. Since its establishment in Zhangjiagang, a major textile town, in 1993, this enterprise, specializing in acrylic yarn, acrylic top, colored acrylic top, and fancy yarn, is leveraging its keen insight into market trends to open up new growth space in the complex industry environment.

"The recent cotton price fluctuations have put many downstream enterprises in a difficult position," Li Xiong added while flipping through the latest industry developments. "News reports say 'whether the cotton price rise can continue, the market is in a strong wait-and-see mood,' and 'domestic consumption is weak, and the increase in U.S. cotton production may lead to a weak rebound in cotton prices in the short term.' This uncertainty has precisely created opportunities for our differentiated products." As an important category of alternative fibers, Antai Textile's acrylic products, with stable raw material supply and color expressiveness, are becoming the preferred solution for apparel and home textile enterprises to cope with cotton price fluctuations.

In the production workshop, Factory Director Huang pointed to the operating German-imported fancy yarn production line and introduced: "To meet the market demand for diversified fabrics, we added 3 new color spinning production lines this year, and now the daily production capacity of colored acrylic top has increased to 20 tons. Look at this batch of seven-color sectional dyed yarn customized for a Zhejiang customer. It uses our independently developed gradient dyeing process, which saves 30% water compared with traditional processes and shortens the delivery cycle by a full week." This technological innovation not only responds to customers' demands for cost control against the backdrop of "worries on the demand side" but also wins pricing power for the enterprise by increasing product added value.

In terms of raw material strategy, Antai Textile has demonstrated unique industry wisdom. In response to the international supply change of "Brazil's cotton production dropping sharply to 5.5 million bales", the company established a diversified raw material procurement system as early as three years ago, optimizing the proportion of chemical fibers such as acrylic and viscose to 65%, effectively avoiding the risk of single raw material fluctuations. "The Shanghai Composite Index rose 1.09% last week, but the Textile Manufacturing Index rose 2.96%, outperforming by 1.87 percentage points," Li Xiong analyzed. "This indicates that capital is paying attention to enterprises with supply chain resilience. Our acrylic yarn export volume in the first half of the year increased by 15% year-on-year, with the Southeast Asian market growing by 22%, which is precisely due to this forward-looking layout."

Thirty years of industry accumulation have enabled Antai Textile to form a full industrial chain capability from raw material R&D to fancy yarn design. The company not only has a provincial-level technology center but also jointly established a functional fiber laboratory with Donghua University. The developed functional products such as antibacterial acrylic yarn and moisture-absorbing and heat-generating acrylic top have been successfully applied in outdoor clothing, home textiles and other fields. "Now customers want not just yarn, but overall solutions," Factory Director Huang said, picking up a roll of newly produced slub acrylic yarn. "This product combines the texture of cotton and the bulkiness of acrylic, with an 18% increase in breaking strength, and has received bulk orders from three listed companies."

Facing the industry situation of "relatively stable operation of the polyester chain", Antai Textile is opening up new tracks through product structure upgrading. The "Magic Color Series" fancy yarn launched this year uses a special spinning process to achieve a three-color gradient effect in a single yarn, and has now entered the supply chain system of domestic leading Hanfu brands. "Market demand is indeed under pressure, but there are still opportunities in niche areas," Li Xiong looked at the busy logistics vehicles in the factory area outside the window. "Our fancy yarn sales increased by 35% year-on-year last month, which proves that as long as products have unique features, they can achieve excess returns in the market where 'the textile and apparel industry rose by 0.81%'."

From a small factory by the Yangtze River to a modern textile enterprise with an annual production capacity of over 10,000 tons, Antai Textile has interpreted its industry persistence of "thirty years of standing firm" with focus and innovation. As the international issue of "Pakistan calling for the restoration of cotton's core role in the economy" and the regional dynamic of "U.S. tariff concerns slowing down cotton trade in northern India" intersect and collide, this Chinese textile enterprise is using acrylic fiber as a brush to paint its own colors on the canvas of global textile industry transformation.
